1998

Incorporated as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Water & Electricity Authority

The Emirate of Abu Dhabi privatises the Water and Electricity sector. Massar Solutions PJSC (Massar) is incorporated as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Water & Electricity Authority (ADWEA).

1999

Massar commences operations

The Emirate of Abu Dhabi privatises the Water and Electricity sector. Massar Solutions PJSC (Massar) is incorporated as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Water & Electricity Authority (ADWEA).

2005

Abu Dhabi Power Corporation

(a wholly owned subsidiary of ADWEA and owner of 100% of Massar) sells 51% of its shares to Abu Dhabi Investment Company (Invest AD).

2006

The remaining 49% shares of Massar are sold to Abu Dhabi National Energy Company PJSC (TAQA), a subsidiary of ADWEA.

Massar begins providing its services on the open market and secures a major fleet-outsource contract with Abu Dhabi Municipality.

2008

Franchise Rights

Massar acquires the franchise rights to operate across UAE, International car rental brand Payless, a company owned by Avis Budget Froup and headquartered in St. Petersburg, Florida, USA.

2013

Distributor Rights

Massar secures the sole distributorship rights for Arvento Mobile Tracking and Telematics products, considered to be the best in its class, to support its ‘Smart Vehicle Technologies’ division.

2014

Massar establishes its Supply Chain Solutions division.

The Company changed its legal name from Al Wathba Company for Central Services PJSC to Massar Solutions PJSC and rebranded from AWCCS to Massar.
